A magnificent bird of prey, the Barn Owl is almost ethereal when spotted in the early morning mists. I was very lucky to see this chap one very early morning and he looked right at me! They have some extraordinary specially adapted characteristics to help them hunt for food at night and have incredibly sensitive hearing. A true joy to anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing one in the wild.
