Angus
Angus gets excited for his early morning walk
He is well known in the village, he is quite the talk
Barking at the door, dancing with his little feet
He will get smiles and ear rubs from everyone he meets
He is a real honest country boy at heart
Wearing his little tweed cap really sets him apart
With black twinkly eyes that show his kind soul
As he waddles to get the paper and a sausage roll
He is the reason his owner Douglas gets out of bed
As Angus talks him into nice long walks instead
As he gets older, he tends to tire and slow down
But now finds he is chatting to folk and getting around
“Morning Angus!” They call, waving at the familiar pair
Angus waits for his little bit of sausage, sniffing the air
At their favourite bench they sit with time to spend
Douglas shares his breakfast, smiling at his very best friend
