Puppy Planting
Sue had been yearning for the Spring to arrive
It was her favourite season when everything comes alive
She couldn’t wait to start planting her flowers and seeds
Being out in the sunshine with the birds and the bees
However, this year there was a new addition in her life
Three rather cheeky puppies bringing love and strife
As cute as they were they ignored every house rule
“Out into the garden” she called, picking up her tools
They dug at the ground and ran off with her spade
Trampling all over the new flower bed she had made
“Let’s play hide and seek!” and they raced past the roses
The littlest one yelped as he got tangled in the hose
A crash from the greenhouse made her go and investigate
What mischief now had they managed to create?
As she stepped in the door, she couldn’t help but laugh aloud
They had planted themselves in her pair of wellies they had found
“Found you!” she laughed, and they all wriggled in delight
Mummies little helpers, they enjoyed gardening alright!
