Poppy’s Pink Wellies
Poppy was a stubborn girl who knew her own mind
Her favourite pastime was to sleep and unwind
A walk was ok but she preferred her cosy bed
If it was raining, she wouldn’t budge, shaking her head
But her owner was determined and stood her ground
Thinking she had been clever as on the internet she had found
The prettiest pink wellies especially for dogs’ little paws
Poppy eyed them suspiciously as she was encouraged to the door
This is ridiculous she thought, a pair of wellies on her feet
Did her owner not care about who might she meet
Reluctantly she stepped outside in the drizzle and the cold
Splat! went a puddle but her feet stayed dry, low and behold
Poppy stomped in another puddle as the rain hammered down
Her fear of rain was gone with the fun new game she had found
