Hares & Hedgerows
Oh, to be a hare is a wonderous thing
Leaping over hedgerows as the blackbirds sing
Running like the wind across the fields of wheat
The soft earth barely touching my powerful feet
Nibbling juicy berries as they grown in the hot sun
Lazing under the bushes when I’m tired from my run
Wonderful woodland folk to call my friends
Adventure and excitement around every new bend
And when the stars appear like a blanket overhead
I gaze into the cosmos hearing ancestor voices in my head
For I am a wild and spirited creature
Mother Earth is my sacred and ancient teacher
