Finn stretched in his bed and slowly plodded down the hall
He suddenly realised what was happening and dropped his ball
For there, stacked by the door where the holiday bags and toys
Finally, it was that time of year again, he leapt about with joy
He barked and barked noisily, chasing his tail in excited glee
He raced into the kitchen knocking over toast and cups of tea
We’re off! He barked and jumped about, we are off to the sea!
Everyone was having breakfast but Finn was having none of that
He barked at them and jumped up at dad knocking off his hat
“Calm down boy!” they cried but Finn was way too excited
They gave up trying to eat breakfast at which Finn was delighted
He hurried them into the campervan, their trusty ride to get away
He jumped in the backseat ready to get the first sight of the bay
Surfboards were tied to the roof rack and a cooler packed with food
Finn was wearing his holiday neck scarf that made him feel like a dude
After many miles the scenery changed and they arrived at the quay
He stuck his head out the window to smell the air and salty sea
People on the beach in deckchairs waved at him as he went past
For he was the happiest looking dog on his holiday at last
He sat at the campsite ears blowing in the breeze and feeling free
Finn loved coming to the beach as he’d be having fish and chips for his tea
